Meet the Facilitators: 

Kevin McClendon: Kevin serves as Co-Founder & Co-Director of Proximate, helping forward a mission of shifting power to those with lived experience. In addition, he leads YBB Ventures, an angel investing group in Detroit, MI. Prior, Kevin was an investment analyst for Gutter Capital. Before this, he provided strategic services for a variety of venture firms, ESOs, and non-profits. Kevin began his career in marketing for a diversity of industries — including entertainment, real estate, and health care.Kevin was a member of Solution Journalism Network's 2024 Climate Journalism Cohort, Beloved Community's 2024 BC Cohort, Transforming Power Fund's 2023 Giving Project, and Megawatt's 2022 AI for Content Task Force. He was born in Highland Park, MI. Kevin believes in growing wealth, gaining power, and giving love. 

TeQuion Brookins: CEO of TeQuionBrookins LLC and MotorCity Mimosa, TeQuion is a tech enthusiasts with over a decade of experience helping individuals and organizations adopt and implement technology to drive their missions forward. A member of Google's Women Techmakers, founding board member of the Connect313 initiative, and certified cybersecurity awareness professional, TeQuion spends her spare time researching the latest tech and attending demos and conferences to stay on top of trends that increase productivity and solve operational challenges. With over 8 tech-enabled brands, including Bid4Impact, TeQuion's dedication to empowering others through technology is reflected in her ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide and support community growth.
